Crazy About Statues

Jonah is getting around pretty easily now, and it makes for a fun time. He's babbling a lot too and just doing all kinds of funny things. He sure keeps life exciting! His favorite "toys" are still his books- he always goes for those first. :)

We're still taking a walk every evening, and Jonah loves it. So do we. We're starting to get a little tired of seeing the same old thing, but we try to find ways to make it more interesting than the last time. For instance, one time we counted the number of religious statues in our neighborhood. There are 27! Talk about statue-crazy.

Before bedtime last night- it was a little later than usual!

Reading "That's Not My Bunny" this morning with Daddy

He still loves those toes

What Else?

I'll tell you what else has been cookin' at the Condits...

We finished painting the second wall of the guest room. Here's a picture of the colors.

Jonah and I visited Luke at his office on Monday. Here they are watching a group of students dancing to YMCA, which they were required to do as part of a household initiation process.

I cleaned Luke's bookshelves while Dan and Jonah played on the floor.

In the evening, Luke conducted Part II of Pool School for Sarah.

Jonah and I supervised

He's still loving pans and spatulas

And shadows...
What a cutie!

Enjoy, have a great day, and love to all of you!

RA Appreciation

This past Sunday we had the four Resident Directors over as well as all the RA's. The RD's cooked a delicious brunch for everyone, and then they gave out an award to each RA. I think everyone had an enjoyable time. Here are some pictures to prove it:

Everyone was so good with Jonah!

Jonah warmed up to Joe Tompkins right away. Joe is a graduating senior, politics major, who won the JP II Man of the Year award this past Sunday.

And he made a friend his own size, too, John Frain. I think they liked each other!

Here are the RA's, relaxing...

Applauding award recipients

The guys enjoyed their brunch in the Florida sunshine

They were pretty good at the "natural" shots...

So was Brandon. (Luke needs a little work.)

The whole staff

Kindred spirits
At the Bean the other day- Jonah tried to get a little bit of my smoothie!

I attended the Senior awards ceremony the other night. There's Dean Dentino
leading the ceremony.

Jonah is sitting up now!

Queen Mary's Pub is coming along nicely

So is the alligator right behind our house

Enjoy, have a great day, and love to all of you!

Do We Live in Pleasantville?

Well, we sure had a busy weekend! This is a super long post, and it only covers Saturday. I could tell you what we did, but the pictures and captions will suffice...

Jonah didn't sleep too well on Friday night, so it was a rough morning.

Not for Jonah, though. He was his happy self!

He searched for Daddy.
Later on we took a long walk. This isn't too far from our house. I'm pointing to the smoke from the nearby fires. Several roads have been closed because of them. Yesterday, the smoke was much closer to Ave Maria than it had been the previous day.

We checked on the progress at Publix. Pretty nice parking lot, wouldn't you say?

See how much they've done?
Then we checked out the back. There will be stores here, but we're not sure exactly which ones. These are coming along, too!
Jonah enjoyed chillin' in the stroller.

For those of you who have not been to Ave Maria yet, you haven't seen
the signs posted on the side of the road as you drive in. We stopped by to do some live advertising. This was bound to happen...

Do we live in PLEASANTVILLE? :)
Later, we grilled out. Here's Luke with his pink cupcake grilling mitt.

Jonah playing in his high chair.

And a video. Enjoy, have a great day, and love to all of you!

The Life of a Mother

The other day, in the afternoon when I was making dinner, I stopped to change Jonah's very messy diaper. Since he had gotten poop all over his outfit, I thought I'd take it off, and as I reached under his arm my entire finger suddenly felt very warm all over. When I pulled it out, it was covered in a very messy smelly substance. At the same time, the steaming carrots in the kitchen started to boil over. Then I heard the phone ring, but I was trying to hold wiggly wild-man Jonah down without smearing poop all over his arms. I found myself sitting on the floor, trapped by a very small child, and laughing out loud. Later on when the storm blew over (aka. when Luke came home and wisked Jonah off to the bathtub) Maria called and asked why I didn't pick up the phone when she called. Such is the life of a mom.

Now for today's pictures...

The tupperware tops are a big hit

After a hard day's work, it's time for some fun

Last night we had some girls over for dinner to thank them for watching Jonah a couple times. A game of corn toss followed dinner. Here's Corinne waiting her turn and Stephanie winding up for the big toss.
Here's Luke looking on and Sarah laughing it up

While Jonah and I cheered everyone on (but mostly Luke)

One of the neighborhood kids joined the audience, and he was the first of several spectators.
"Mommy, this isn't a good time for a picture. I just woke up."

It didn't take him long to wake up

Here's a cute one. They do this every day when Luke gets home from work. Enjoy, have a great day, and love to all of you!
