Auntie Am & Auntie Angie Visit!

Caleb did some tummy time the other day. I think it was enjoyable because he just slept through it!

Auntie Am and Auntie Angie have arrived, and it's been so much fun to have them here. Luke is gone on retreat until Wednesday, so we miss him lots. Thankfully, I have a couple extra pairs of hands to help me out... here Jonah is enjoying a basket ride around the kitchen.

And here Caleb is enjoying some extra loving by his aunties.

One of Angela's main jobs has been to get the cradle cap off Caleb's head

On Saturday before Luke left for retreat, we watched the USA world cup soccer game together. Except for the fact that USA lost, we had fun watching.

Finally, his Godmother gets to kiss him!

Sunday morning, we braved Mass with both kids. Before we left, Jonah decided to do a little reading while he waited by the door.

And Caleb, all dressed up, layed on the boppy pillow while mommy got ready.

Then he took a quick nap in the swing... I guess the pacifier lost its appeal.

Jonah is loving his aunties' attention.

We rented a steam-vac to clean the carpets, and it was a pretty exciting operation yesterday. See, Jonah's really getting into it.

Sometimes Auntie Am uses the fly swatter to order Jonah around rather than kill flies. :)

This is what happens when Luke leaves his little boy with Mommy and her sisters. Fluffy pink socks.

Some videos for you...

My Little Helper

The first thing Jonah wanted to do this morning was read a book in bed with his dad. Caleb is even in the bed listening... see him on the other side?

Jonah has been helping a lot in the kitchen lately. He loves standing on a chair and watching me chop vegetables or pretty much do anything at the counter. Here he's helping me put potato slices in the bowl of water. He's a great little helper!

I took this video yesterday...

Loving Caleb

Things here are going smoothly. Jonah has completely warmed up to Caleb; in fact, it's hard to keep him away from the baby these days! I mean, most of the time I don't want to keep them apart, but that doesn't change the fact that you can't leave them alone if Caleb is within Jonah's reach. He ALWAYS wants to put the pacifier in the baby's mouth, even if Caleb is totally asleep and content. The other day when Jonah was having his snack, he tried to shove a cracker in Caleb's mouth- it's nice that he's sharing, but things can get a little dangerous.

No matter what Luke is up to, Jonah always wants to be close by...

See what I mean?

And if he can't be near daddy, then he'll stay next to Caleb...

Luke and Jonah switched back and forth between the World Cup and the Pebble Beach Golf Tournment on Sunday...

Caleb watched all the excitement from the other end of the couch

Here's our little baby looking around. He's so much more alert now and awake quite a bit more during the day.

He's getting chunkier! :)

Enjoy the vidoes.

The Couch + A Blanket = Fun

The ghost of Jonah?

We're always trying to find new things to do in the house. Enjoy!

Listening for Thunder

The rainy season is upon us now, so every afternoon/evening the sky clouds over, it gets really dark, and the heavy rain comes. Last night we had a really nice storm, and Jonah sat on Luke's lap for a while to watch the lightning. It was so cute.

During dinner there was quite a bit of thunder, and we took some time to listen to it. Apparently, Jonah has to close his eyes in order to listen properly. I don't know where he picked this up, but it's pretty funny. Enjoy!

Chocolate Pudding

Caleb has a little bit of trouble working out his gas, so Luke and I have become burping machines... dressed up or casual, morning or night, a lot of our time is spent burping the baby. In fact, just today when I was changing Jonah's diaper before his nap, he started patting me on the back and said "Burp mama." Then he was patting himself on the back as best he could, and he'd say "Burp Jonah." I guess he's caught on to the whole burping thing!

Most of the time Caleb will sleep pretty much anywhere you put him. This is one of Luke's favorite places to put the baby. He seems to like it too!

Luke and Jonah look on as Caleb takes his first shot at tummy time.

When I was browsing the aisles in the grocery store the other day, I came across the chocolate pudding and thought I'd try it out on Jonah for snack time. It's always good to have variety, but I wasn't sure if he'd like it or not. I needn't have worried...

The only problem is cleaning up!

Jonah finds many ways to entertain himself these days. The drawing toy is still very popular. He takes that thing everywhere!

Daddy and Baby

Jonah didn't want to be left out!

Here's Jonah outside of the patio door enjoying the evening breeze, or should I say the evening humidity and gnat attack?

Last night he layed on the ground outside the door and read one of his books. (This was right before he threw the book over the gate into the pool.)

Although the weather isn't so pleasant this time of year in Florida, we do get beautiful sunsets and cool cloud formations... this was last night.

And here are some videos we've taken over the past week or so. Enjoy!

Stickers!

We've been experimenting with stickers lately. Jonah asked me to put one on his nose (he did this by pointing to the sticker, then pointing to his nose and saying "Nose?"). Then I asked him where else he wanted one, and this is how he ended up. He really liked the dolphin one on his forehead! And he loved looking at himself in the mirror...

Here's Jonah demonstrating that he knows how to be nice to Caleb. He's been an awesome big brother!

Jonah's had some sandbox time lately. It's funny- he doesn't want to stand in it. He always stands outside of the sandbox or sits on the edge.

Did you bury your pants in the sand, Jonah?

My three boys...

Here's Luke singing "Rise and Shine" to Jonah. I think Caleb is enjoying it as well- he just sat there as relaxed as could be in daddy's arms.

Two videos... enjoy! Love to all!

Timber!

Here's my work station when Jonah's taking his nap. We keep the computer in the guest room now, and I just move Caleb around in the Moses basket!

He's pretty comfy in there.

Jonah has a little set of big legos now, and he's not the only one who likes to play with them

We got this swing on Craig's List for less than half its retail price. Caleb absolutely loves it.

This is always how things end up when he's in the swing

Occasionally, Jonah tries to give Ellie or other toys to Caleb, so we have to keep an eye on him!

Luke put the gate up around the pool the other day, so Jonah and I have been hanging out right outside the patio doors sometimes. It's a great place to practice dribbling!

And here's where we've decided to put the sandbox.

He's already getting his thumb in there!

Reading books on our bed has been a very popular activity with Jonah lately

And so has reading books with Caleb, though he tends to fall asleep

Jonah got to hold his baby brother for the first time yesterday. He did have his arms around him, but I couldn't get that on camera.

Jonah looks like he wants to ask some questions about his brother, doesn't he?

He's already looking bigger!

And videos...
Jonah likes to play "copy cat" now. I don't know where he got this idea, but he likes to do an action and then have us copy him. Here's a video of Jonah and Luke playing this little game after dinner.

Jonah's favorite game right now is Timber! Stack anything up, and he can knock it over and say "Timber!" It's pretty fun.

Our new swing and Caleb's paradise...

More Timber!

And more...
