Five Months Old!

It's been a busy weekend! Luke spent most of Saturday in Naples getting work done on my car... it got 4 new tires, an alignment, and an oil change. Took a while. When he got back we watched the rugby game here in Ave Maria and then we hung out at home on Saturday night. Yesterday we went to Mass at St. John the Evangelist in Naples and spent the rest of the day packing and getting ready for our trip.

We're leaving in just a little while. We fly out of Ft. Lauderdale and arrive in Denver around 4:00 this afternoon. Luke is REALLY looking forward to being in the cold weather and is extremely hopeful that it will snow a lot.

Jonah is 5 months old today! Just in the last day he has really started to make the "dah" sound. He opens his mouth really wide and does it over and over again. Luke and I were laughing so hard yesterday when we were listening to him. I haven't been able to capture it on camera yet, but I hopefully will soon. You will love it! Onto the pictures now...

He's still rolling around on the floor all the time!

And biting on his feet...

Jonah loves the changing table. There are little straps on it to keep him from rolling off, and he loves biting on them.

When we go to check on Jonah while he's sleeping, we never know what position he'll be in! We usually put him down on his back, but he always ends up on his tummy. And as you can see, he loves to be up in the corner.

Jonah loves the cell phone!

I tried to get him to talk, but he didn't want to!
I'll try to update the blog this week, but I'm not sure how often I'll be able to. Hope all is well. Have a great day, and love to all of you!

Rubber Ducky, You're the One...

Yesterday we stopped at Luke's office to pay a visit. Jonah had a good time! Last night was a turning point, I must say... he slept through the whole night. In fact, we actually woke him up at 8:00 this morning to give him a feeding!!! Way to go, Jonah!

Friday is finally here... it's been a pretty busy week, and we're happy to see the end of it. Just getting ready for Monday, when we will leave for the beautiful state of Colorado.

Jonah absolutely loves his bathtime. He splashes so hard that we all get wet. :) Last weekend we bought this little rubber ducky (a bath essential). Tom, you'll be happy to know it's the kind of ducky that changes color if the water's too hot- remember telling us about that? Anyway, Jonah likes to bite on his beak... it's the perfect size!

So happy in the bathtub!

In the saucer this morning...

We took this a few days ago... Jonah is getting REALLY good at eating from the spoon! Enjoy, have a great day, and love to all of you!

On the Phone... Already?

I'm late today on the blog- the computer has been acting up. So onto the pictures...

"You better watch out... I have a solid karate kick."

"And a cute smile to match."

"Hmmm... how does this thing work?"

Happy little Jonah

Jonah really did try to figure out the phone. As you will see, I think he enjoys the sound of the buttons! Enjoy, have a great day, and love to all of you!

Our Little Noisemaker

Mary Beane came over the house this morning... I worked with her at the Grammar Prep School last year. We had a nice visit during Jonah's nap. Now I'm cleaning up, and I'm going to wrap a couple books we sold. For our outing today, Jonah and I will mail the books and maybe walk around the towncenter a bit. It's a beautiful day out again, perfect for a little stroll.

Dad, as you can see, we've filled the cork board with all kinds of things! I haven't done much with the shelf yet, but I will. THANKS, DAD!

Kicking, moving, and talking this morning after a good sleep last night. Woohoo!

"Ooooh, maybe I ate too much."

Just waking up.

"I love you, cow. May I bite on your ear?"

Just in the last few days, Jonah has started making the sounds you'll hear in this video. He does it all the time! If you're holding him, you get a nice little shower... added bonus. Enjoy, have a great day, and love to all of you!

All Through the Night

Most of us have probably heard that song. "Sleep my child, and peace attend thee all through the night..." Well, I can finally relate! Last night was the first time since Jonah's birth that I didn't have to get out of bed between the hours of 10pm and 5am. It was miraculous to say the least. He did wake up around 1am, and we let him fuss a little. Then Luke went in and stayed with Jonah for a bit- it didn't take him too long to fall back asleep, and then he didn't wake up until 5:30 this morning! He had a wonderful sleep and was very happy this morning... so were mommy and daddy. :)

I only have a couple pictures today, but I posted a video too. Enjoy, have a great day, and love to all of you!

The sky was gorgeous last night...

Into the Playpen

We don't have too much going on today. I did my piano lessons early because my students have a vacation day from school. :) Now I can take an afternoon nap when Jonah goes down- woohoo! Luke couldn't make it home for lunch because he has a 1:00 meeting, so we'll probably stop over there and bring him something to eat. That will be our outing for the day. Now for some pictures...

My turn to play the guitar for Jonah

Biting on a teething ring from Grandma Dougoveto... he loves it!

This is how he took his nap yesterday... so cute.

Starting to like the playpen

Storytime this morning... legs up, everyone!

I took this little video this morning- Jonah is just starting to like the playpen a little!
God bless, have a great day, and love to all of you!

Coconut Point

We had a pretty eventful day yesterday- it was fun! When Luke got home from his errands, we left for Coconut Point and just walked around outside. We stopped into a few stores here and there, we browsed World Market again, had dinner at Carabba's, and then stopped into Target to buy some clothes for Jonah. All in all, it was a great day and lots of fun.

Jonah and his Daddy

"When are we going to leave this store, guys?"

"Not yet, Jonah."

We enjoyed the massage chairs in Brookstone.
We waited outside for Carabba's!

At home before we left for the day. Jonah loves being by the window and looking outside.

Getting ready for a bath last night... this is one of my favorites!
God bless, have a great day, and love to all of you!

Love Is In the Air

Happy Valentine's Day! It's a beautiful day in Florida- the weather is gorgeous. We don't have a whole lot going on. Luke is running errands in Naples this morning, and Jonah & I are hanging out. I'm a little tired as he was up every hour of the night... it's probably because we gave him some rice cereal in the evening, which we won't do again for a while! This morning I'm going to do some ironing, laundry, and cleaning. This afternoon we're going to walk around Coconut Point again, and then tonight we'll have a steak dinner here at the house. That's about it!

Jonah is as cute and fun as ever. He keeps us busy, that's for sure... but it just gets better and better every day. Here are today's pics...

He loves laying on the floor in his room, so I usually put him there when I'm cleaning up or putting laundry away. Here he is biting on a teething ring that Luke bought for him, and best of all in his mind- he's naked!!!

By the window- he loves looking outside!

Here's a series of pictures I took of Jonah and his monkey toy. He actually pushes it around now!

And tries to bite it

Here is Jonah eating rice cereal. This was the 3rd time we tried it, and he did much better than the first two tries! He's actually swallowing now, and I think he likes the taste. Enjoy!
God bless, have a great day, and love to all of you!

Bedtime Routine

It's finally Friday! Jonah slept pretty well last night. He's still adjusting to his crib, but it seems like he's getting better and better. He's rolling around on the floor like you wouldn't believe- when you put him down, you just don't know where he's going to end up! It's really cute. We're just waiting for the crawling to begin.

Things are busy as ever at the university. Luke has been trying to attend more events in the evenings, and Jonah & I come along whenever we can. It's always nice to get out of the house, and it's been good to attend events after dinner because we try and keep Jonah up until around 7:30 when we start his bedtime routine, which is as follows:

1. We give Jonah a bath (sometimes a full bath, sometimes a sponge bath... it all depends!)
2. Then we get him dressed in his nighttime outfit
3. Luke takes him outside to say goodnight to the moon, the trees, the sky, everything!
4. I read him a book
5. I feed him one more time
6. We put him in bed and say prayers

Now for some pictures...

He's pretty content in this position most of the time now

Visiting Luke at work yesterday!

Then we visited Deanna Fitzgerald... Jonah liked her!

Attentive as ever

With Sr. Grace at the student forum last night

Now he's into grabbing the bird, not just looking at him

I took this video yesterday... I think at the beginning Jonah doesn't know if he's happy or sad! Enjoy. Have a great day, and love to all of you!

We're In Good Company

Last night we had Dan, Cathy, and Fr. Bob over for dinner. It was a lot of fun! We all had a good time visiting and eating. Today we're taking it easy. Jonah and I are going to take a little walk this afternoon, but other than that, we're just going to do some chores around the house, make dinner, play on the floor, and catch up on some emails.

Today's pics...

Jonah is spending more and more time in his high chair. He's having a little rice cereal every day as well as a daily dose of liquid vitamins! And doing great!

This was the cutest thing... (Maria, this happened when we were on the phone yesterday). Luke was playing the guitar and singing for Jonah, and he was just sitting there watching. Gradually, Jonah's eyelids started to droop, and pretty soon he was sleeping just like you see in this picture. Isn't it so cute?

Getting ready for dinner last night. Dan is very excited, as you can see. :)

I made Bruschetta for an appetizer, and Fr. Bob cooked the main meal... salad, dressing, pasta, homemade spaghetti sauce, and meat! Yummy. Cathy made a chocolate cake for dessert.

Visiting after dinner...

Cheers!

Talking it up

Good friends good times

The meat of the meal... Italian sausage, pork chops, and beef steaks

On the floor this morning

Jonah is as calm as a cucumber in this video... I couldn't get him to do anything, but it's still cute! Have a great day, and love to all of you!
